Learning the Lessons bulletins summarise reports on recommendations for improving policing practice which have arisen out of conduct investigations carried out by Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) or by police forces, Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) or Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC). Some are on a particular theme; other, general, bulletins cover a range of issues.
The cases have been chosen because they provide learning opportunities for other police forces facing similar situations and may help them improve their policies and practices. Full reports of the cases referred to can be accessed through the links in the bulletin. Names have been anonymised in the learning reports to make it possible to circulate them more widely.

You may find that access to a learning report is limited at present. This is because there are proceedings or an inquest pending which mean the report cannot be made fully public at this stage. It will, however, be included when legal considerations allow.
