Bulletins

The purpose of Learning the Lessons bulletins is to summarise reports on recommendations for improving policing practice which have arisen out of conduct investigations carried out by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) or by police forces, Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) or Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

The cases have been chosen because they provide learning opportunities for other police forces facing similar situations and may help them improve their policies and practices. Full reports of the cases referred to are available on the IPCC website (www.ipcc.gov.uk). Names have been changed in the learning reports to make it possible to circulate them more widely.
